2. SLOG & Power Loss Protection
Never use consumer NVMe SSDs without PLP as a ZFS SLOG (Separate Intent Log). Doing so risks losing in-flight sync writes. Use enterprise U.3 or PCIe NVMe drives with onboard tantalum capacitors.
